Planned Parenthood Toronto is a fully accredited community health centre that provides primary health care services to youth 13 to 29 years as well as health promotion programming, education, training and research to improve the health and well being of Toronto’s diverse communities. We are currently seeking Nurse Practitioners to work occasional shifts on an as needed basis in our dynamic clinic for youth aged 13 - 29. Working as part of the interdisciplinary care, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide care to clients on a variety of issues, including general primary, sexual, and reproductive health care.
Detailed description:
Qualifications include:
• BscN or equivalent, and registration with the CNO as a Nurse Practitioner – Primary Health Care
• Ability to provide primary and sexual health care to clients during drop in setting 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm and/or by appointment during the day
• Demonstrated ability to work with youth in areas of primary, sexual & reproductive health care
• Commitment to working cooperatively in a community-based setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team of staff, volunteers and students
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency and experience working in a computerized environment
• Commitment to pro-choice philosophy
• Demonstrated commitment to equity goals and principles, sexual and reproductive rights and to being youth positive, gay positive and sex positive
